Time for the potty?

My son just turned 2 on January 6th and he is still in diapers. We went through a few phases where he was very interested in the potty and wanted to try to use it. I got him a potty chair and we got a smaller seat that sits on the big potty for him to use. He used the potty succesfully once, but then back-tracked to the point of not really being interested at all in the potty and using it. He didn’t want to wear underwear and diaper changes were just a pain in the b***. After noticing that many kids in his story time and other play groups are starting up the potty training again, and after listening to the moms talk about the tools they are using to get their children interested in the potty, I think I am going to try to make a go of it again.Recently Robbie has taken great interested in wearing his underwear again, and he is very interested in Elmo. My idea for tomorrow is to put him in his training underwear with the plastic pants over them, and let him go for the afternoon without pants and with the potty chair nearby. I want to give him the afternoon to try to use the potty, to see if he takes an interest, especially when he can feel the wet while wearing regular cloth underwear instead of diapers. If he seems interested or wants to continue, I can make a big deal of getting him the Elmo underwear, however if he doesn’t seem all that interested in the potty at this time, we will stop and let him take some time. I don’t want to push him too hard and cause him to not want to use the potty at all. Right now he has requested to sit on the smaller potty at the library (in the family restroom) and that made me think that maybe he is ready again…Wish me luck!
